Usborne Book Fair
Our Usborne Book Fair will take place the week of February 5 - 9 in the Shine Café from 9:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Usborne Books has a huge variety of early learning & non-fiction books for our students. Here is your chance to support the preschool and shop for some great books for the entire family. If you would like to purchase a book for your child’s classroom, teachers will have a wish list posted and available to view during the book fair.
Our lovely Ms. Barb has titled the Christmas Program, “Let There Be Peace.” Pastor Craig will play the role of Jonathan the story teller. Mark your calendar for Thursday, December 7, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center (gym). Students need to arrive at 5:45 p.m. Please take your child to their classroom, manually sign them in and then join us in the gym. Our toddler students do not take part in this program.

Our second center-wide activity will be a movie day. We will use the theater room upstairs and watch A Winnie the Pooh Thanksgiving and enjoy a tasty snack. The running time of the cartoon is 25 minutes.
This is not age-appropriate for our toddler children. Ms. Karla will have a fun activity planned for her students.
The safety and welfare of our students and staff are our highest priority. The program will perform a lockdown drill on November 9th at 10:45 a.m. The drill takes 20 minutes. Please remember during this drill the preschool wing will be completely locked down. We will not open any doors in the preschool wing until our drill is completely over (no exceptions). We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
Our first center-wide activity for November will be an interactive Spanish session, “Español con doña Maria” on Tuesday, November 7th. This class is designed for our older friends. Below is the time and groups that will participate in this activity.

If your child does not attend school on Tuesday, they are still welcome to join us with an accompanying adult.
Our center-wide activity will be our annual costume parade. The children will parade around the church facility and receive goodies from the church staff. We ask that children do not wear any scary costumes. Families are encourage to stick around for this event. Don’t forget your cameras! Parade starts promptly at 10:00 a.m. Treat donations are accepted. Please drop them off at the preschool office by Friday, October 27th. Keep in mind we are a nut-free program.
To celebrate our wonderful parents we invite you to join us for a time of fellowship with coffee, tea, and cookies, on Monday, October 23 or Tuesday, October 24, from 8:00 - 10:30 a.m. in the Hospitality Center. First take your child to class and then join us. This is a great opportunity to meet other parents and some of the preschool ministry team members. The “Celebrate Parents Coffee” is hosted by the Preschool Ministry Team (PMT).
St. John’s Preschool will be holding their annual spaghetti dinner/silent auction fundraiser on September 29, 2017, from 5:00 – 7:30 p.m. Please consider donating an item to be auctioned or asking for a donation to benefit our wonderful program. Donation forms can be picked up in the Welcome Center and the preschool office.
Tickets for this event will be available starting September 1st in the preschool office. Prices are $10 for adults, $5 for children three years and up, and free for children under three. The proceeds will be used to purchase benches for the grassy area just outside the Son Shine Café.
